An honest comparison
Menazil or Guesty, for rentals in Egypt?
Both are rental management software. Guesty is bigger, older and works across many countries. Menazil is built for running rentals in Egypt: the money you actually collect in cash and InstaPay, Arabic, and brokers. Below are the differences with sources — including where Guesty is the better choice for you.
The differences
| Topic | Menazil | Guesty |
|---|---|---|
| Taking payment in Egypt | Cash, InstaPay and bank transfers are recorded against the booking, reviewed by a second person, and carried into the owner statement. | Card processors only — GuestyPay, Stripe, Merchant Warrior (Australia) and Hyp (Israel). GuestyPay's country list does not include Egypt, and Stripe does not onboard Egyptian merchants. |
| Arabic | Egyptian Arabic first, right-to-left everywhere, with an English version of every page. | Guesty's help centre lists the dashboard languages as English, Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese. Arabic is not among them, and support for several other languages was removed. |
| Brokers | A broker registers a client, the client stays theirs for 90 days, and the commission is recorded in their name with a portal and a CSV they can check. | No broker role. Commission to a third party is tracked outside the software. |
| How a booking arrives | A broker's Arabic WhatsApp message is read into a booking — unit, dates, nightly rate, deposit, services — with whatever is missing listed for you. | A unified inbox for the booking channels it connects to. |
| Where guests come from | menazil.net is a public site that sends availability requests to the team that runs the home. | Software for managing demand you already have; it does not bring guests itself. |
| Channel manager | iCal in and out on a schedule: dates block each other, nothing else moves. This is the honest limit of what we do today. | A real two-way channel manager across 60+ sites: rates, content, availability, reservations and guest messages. Better than ours. |
| Starting | Free for 2 properties, no card, 5% booking commission. | A 14-day trial of Lite (1–3 listings), then paid. Lite has no owner portal, no accounting and no payment processing. |
What ten units cost
Our Pro plan is EGP 5,000 a month for up to 20 properties, with a 4% booking commission. Guesty quotes Pro privately; published sources put it at $40–72 per listing per month, plus about 1% per reservation and a one-time setup fee. For ten units that is roughly $400–720 a month.
One thing to know up front: our commission is a percentage of bookings, so at a high enough season volume that percentage can cost more than a Guesty subscription. If that is your situation, talk to us before deciding — better that we do the arithmetic with you than that you discover it later.
When Guesty is the better choice
- Your bookings come mostly from Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo, and you need rates, photos and descriptions pushed to all of them from one screen.
- You answer guests inside the channels and want that messaging in one inbox.
- You want prices moved automatically by a pricing engine rather than suggested for you to approve.
- You run outside Egypt, where card processing and English-language support are what you need.
